Action world

One sunny morning my whole family woke up and was still tired. As soon as we were packed we jumped into the car, and headed to Action world.

When we saw the turn off to Paihia we were nearly there. Soon after we had finally had made it to Action World.I could see a huge water slide, a tightrope, and monkey bars. I was so excited that I couldn’t wait to get out of the car. We were so early that some of the stuff was closed.

The trapeze opened and I lined up straight away. On my fiftieth try I landed wrong on my leg. “Ouch”, I.cried So, I stopped playing on the trapeze for a little bit and went and fed the ponies instead.  After a while, I went back on to the tripe’s

Llama Facts

Llamas are large animals. They can be 6 feet tall (at the head) and reach between 280 and 450 pounds of weight.

Llama's body is covered with wool which can be black, Gray, white or brown, with variety of patterns. Llamas has excellent sense of sight, smell, and hearing, which are used for detection and danger.

Llamas have inherited fear of coyote, mountain lions and other dog-like animals. Some llamas are used as "guards" of the sheep because they quickly alert and protect the herd when they spot a predator.

Llama is not hoofed animal. It has two toenails on each foot and leathery pad underneath.

Llamas are very intelligent, but stubborn animals. When the load on its back is too heavy, llama will refuse to carry it until some of the load is removed.

400 pounds heavy llama can easily carry 100 pounds heavy load for 10 to 12 miles.

Llamas do not have specific time of mating. Male usually chases female for up to 10 minutes until she is finally ready to mate.

Pregnancy in llamas lasts 11 ½ months and ends with a single baby. Female will give birth to a baby in the morning hours and young llama will be able to run with the rest of the herd by the evening.

Lifespan of llamas is between 20 and 30 years.

Keep Mangonui Ataahua

Mangonui  is a beautiful place It was named after a shark.
Mangonui does not deserve to be covered in litter.

If you don’t put your rubbish in the bin it will go down the drain.
As soon as  the rubbish gets to the sea it will start to break
down into small pieces then the fish will eat the rubbish then we
will eat the fish and poison ourselves.

When plastic bags go into the ocean it looks like a jellyfish and
whales eat them. sometimes whales have ate so much rubbish
they die because they can’t digest the rubbish.

We need to keep Mangonui clean and healthy.

Many years ago one clear starry night, there was a brave chief called
Moehuri who sailed from Hawaiki. The ocean was as calm as gentle
waterfall flowing. Finally, Moehuri saw land ahead. Moehuri chanted
a karakia, soon a giant  shark approached beside Moehuri’s waka.
Mohuri said to the shark ‘‘Guide us safely.’’ When they reached the
shore, Moehuri named the place Mangonui after the giant shark.

Soon they settled on Rangikapiti Pa. They built huts to live in and
they cropped kumara to eat. Soon later,Moehuri sunk Ruakaramea
waka. It became a tapu place and a home for the shark that lead the
people to Mangonui.
